Nova Scotia’s job market is much bigger than you think, there are plenty of opportunities but you need to know where to look and how to prepare. Relocation Nova Scotia can help you with some of your research but we do not currently offer full job search services.

Whilst you may be eligible to emigrate without a job offer, for many applicants the key to successful immigration is finding a job prior to arrival. This can be a daunting prospect but be assured there are opportunities out there.Your search will be helped by the 2010 Immigration Plan to increase immigrant numbers within the province.

“In 2010, Canada will again welcome more new permanent residents than the average annual intake during the 1990s,” said Minister Kenney. “The focus of the 2010 plan is on economic immigration to support Canada’s economy during and beyond the current economic recovery.”

You should be prepared to undertake interviews both over the telephone and in person, so you should ensure you have sufficient funds to fly to Nova Scotia at the employer’s request, as most will not offer jobs on a sight unseen basis. Relocation Nova Scotia can help you plan your itinerary to make the most of this trip. We can also give you guidance on how to prepare a cover letter and a CV/Resume in the local style and how to prepare and present yourself for an interview.

You will also need to verify your credentials, including all post secondary schooling, i.e. a diploma, trade certificate, apprenticeship, degree etc. There are various agencies available to help with this.Once you have done this you will need to identify Nova Scotian employers/recruitment agencies relevant to your profession.

Please note that third party fees may be charged for these services depending on individual needs and complexity.
